Here's where to shop for computer goodies in Toronto...

College St.
College Street looking west from Spadina Avenue

The strip of College Street running west from Spadina Avenue is "Computer Alley" where you'll find a couple of dozen small independent computer dealers.   It's the best area in Toronto to shop for computers, computer parts and peripherals.   Forget the "big box" stores!  This is much more fun!

Just don't drive in this area.   It's well serviced by the TTC and if you happen to buy anything "big" that you can't lug around...grab a taxi.   It's much less hassle.

While here, you can take a short walk to Toronto's famous "Kensington Market" or  to the Spadina Avenue "Chinatown" district.

Back in the 1970's Canadian folksinger Murray McLauchlan immortalized this part of Toronto in his song "Down by the Henry Moore"...which I personally think is the best "Toronto song" ever written!

"I walked down to Kensington Market
Bought me a fish to fry
I went to the Silver Dollar
Looked a stranger in the eye

                          A friend of mine says
That he don't think this town's so out of sight
But he's got shades all round his soul
And he thinks he's seen the light"
